Tofutti Mozzarella Dairy Free Cheese Slices

Tofutti Mozzarella Dairy Free Cheese Slices are incredible. You can stop reading here, if that’s all you were looking to know, but there are a few points to be added to that statement. Tofutti vegan cheese slices do not taste like cheese. Do not put them on pizza and don’t you dare put them in a mac in cheese (or do and let me know how it turns out, it might not be half bad). What Tofutti Mozzarella Cheese Slices does taste like is Kraft cheese slices. Yes, chemically, creamy, melty, not-real-cheese-flavour slices. These slices are good on burgers, but they are truly in their element between two ‘buttered’ and fried pieces of bread next to some ketchup. While it is true that other vegan cheeses also taste amazing in a grilled cheese, Tofutti Mozzarella Dairy Free Cheese Slices taste like the fake-cheese original that you’re used to. I even made some for my brother when he came to visit, and I apologized for only having vegan cheese. My meat-loving, Navy sailer of a brother said that he couldn’t tell the difference between the grilled cheese I made him and the classic Kraft slices. So to add to my initial statement, these slices do not taste amazingly delicious, but neither do the Kraft cheese slices that they replicate so well! Plus, they’re even wrapped in the same infuriatingly difficult to open packaging for that truly authentic experience.

My name is Dana Hart. I am an anthropology student and traveller. Veganism is a passion I have discovered in the past few years, and the more I learn, the more I love. While I prefer to make vegan creations in my kitchen, I am often busy with school or traveling across the country and need food on the road. What Vegans Eat is my project to share my passion for vegan food with other vegans and the world.
